Chevrolet, GMC, and Ford have the run on the 9 passenger SUV market. Chevrolet makes the Tahoe, and Suburban 1500 and 2500 models. GMC offers the Yukon, Yukon XL 1500 and the Yukon XL 2500. Ford offers the Excursion models both with ample room for 9 passengers. Basic lists price for each of these vehicles will begin at approximately $33,000, after you’ve added all the available bells and whistles, the list price could reach a well over $50,000. If you are making a decision to purchase such a large car, it is obvious that being comfortable would be a big plus for you. Chevy Suburban
The two higher priced models are the 2500 series of the Chevy Suburban and the GMC Yukon. Both models have 6.0-liter V8 engines with variable valve timing and can deliver between 352-395 horsepower, great engines for towing large freight likes boats. If all of that isn’t enough, and you need luxury on top of horsepower the Yukon also comes in the luxury model Denali. The 1500 XL versions of these models offer almost identical features except they have 5.3-liter V8 engines.
The GMC Yukon and the Chevrolet Tahoe are up next. Again 2WD or 4WD coupled with an able six speed automatic transmission are the options on these 5.3 liter V8 engine vehicles. They boast the same safety features as their larger competitors. Yet for the driver who requires an honest-to-goodness four-wheel drive with the interior space and the towing capability, the Yukon is definitely your choice.
Ford Excursion
Not to be left behind in the market for the 9 passenger SUV, Ford offers the Excursion. Often compared to the Suburban and the Yukon XL, this is the Ford model for drivers who want large cargo space and even bigger towing needs. The 5.4 – liter V8 engine supplies 255 horsepower. The interior capacity is described as “abundant” as it should be; the Ford Excursion is one of the largest vehicles out there. The safety features include anti lock brakes and driver and front passenger air bags.
